80 years of Experience in Integrating Greenhouse Structures and Systems
Rough Brothers (pronounced Rauh) was founded in 1932 as a maintenance and repair facility for greenhouses which were made out of redwood at the time. Over the last 80 years, RBI has evolved from that small workshop with a handful of employees to become the largest greenhouse, garden center, and conservatory manufacturer in North America. RBI has made extensive investments in manufacturing capabilities in both people and equipment. Infrastructure investments over the recent years have included expansions to the manufacturing facilities with the most automated and highest quality fabrication equipment for steel and aluminum structures, a fabric shop for signage and shade materials, and an expanded shipping and staging area to facilitate on-time deliveries.
RBI- Rough Brothers Inc. Acquired Lord & Burnham in 1988
Historically over 90% of the public conservatories in the United States were built by the now-closed Lord & Burnham. Further enhancing Rough Brothers' conservatory design capabilities, in 1988 Rough Brothers acquired Lord & Burnham's drawings, conservatory design details, and equipment. This is just one more tool that allows Rough Brothers to deliver the precise and pristine detail requirements of conservatory and greenhouse construction, whether for new or historic greenhouse and conservatory restoration.
